Last days of Mosaico&Mosaici 2025
Last days to visit the great annual exhibition of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli
There are still a few days left to visit Mosaico&Mosaici 2025, the summer exhibition of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, which will end on Sunday 31 August 2025. As per tradition, this exhibition takes place during the month of August and attracts many visitors to the School who are eager to see the best works created during the 2024/2025 academic year. This is a well-established and eagerly awaited event that combines the permanent collection of mosaics, which retrace the styles and forms of expression of this art, with the most recent works created during the three-year professional course for Master Mosaicists. A discovery of new works: Roman, Byzantine, modern and contemporary styles. A range of creative proposals and solutions, developed by teachers and students of the School, which are particularly appreciated this year, as evidenced by the number of Italian and foreign visitors who flock to the halls of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli every day, documenting their presence and enthusiasm with thoughts and comments in the guest book, but also on social media. These are numbers that we could define as “big exhibition” numbers, which is what Mosaico&Mosaici is in fact.
Now in its thirty-first edition, the exhibition appeals for its direct approach to visitors, the immediacy of its content, the direct contact with the works, and its ease of access: every day, morning and afternoon. In short, it is a well-established and successful formula, capable of surprising and attracting numerous visitors and those who enter the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli for the first time and are enchanted by it. After seeing the exhibition, every visitor to the art of mosaics understands its complexity, its different nuances, the beauty of the materials, the care taken in the technique, its evolution to the present day, and the necessary dialogue with the most up-to-date forms of expression. From the intertwining patterns taken from Roman-era floors to Byzantine icons with gold backgrounds, from portraits to design solutions, from terrazzo and terrazzo-like samples to decorative panels with figurative subjects, from large panels created in groups to three-dimensional coverings: everything is explained in concise captions and with photographs that illustrate the stages of execution.
The clarity sparks visitors’ interest, and the passion of students and teachers is evident in the works: that passion that supported the creation of the mosaics on display, the result of patience and tenacity, commitment, study and hard work. This passion is alive and palpable, and it is also one of the reasons why visitors leave the exhibition with a renewed love for mosaics and art in general, promising themselves to return next summer. For the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, this is the greatest success: having succeeded in conveying the beauty of mosaics!
